Today I was using disk inventory x to see how my new SSD is looking, and I noticed a large 4GB document file called sleepimage.
I googled it, found out what it was, safely deleted it through terminal, and read up about what it is and what it does. Turns out it is supposed to be deleted after the computer wakes up, but obviously its not doing that anymore. I repaired disk permissions and its still not deleting it like it should. If anyone could shed any light onto this i would greatly appreciate it.

You already know where that'll lead, lot's of complaints.
So that rally call may not be a good idea.
Being a mod doesn't mean I can't still have a sense of humor, which is all I saw that as. No one's going to have a "battle of the 'tars", I'm just messin', which I'm still allowed to do from time to time you know...

Just whilst my Mac's in for repair, I'm having to use a PC. Trying to replicate the experience though, and I have to say that GNOME Do is a fantastic piece of software, far superior to Spotlight or even Quiksilver.
What OS are you running and version and how did you get it to look that good?

Glad to see the end of MobileMe and couldn't stand the "Me" idea. Seemed to be a trend back in the mid to late 90s when I worked for a big consumer products company. They had an intranet MY[big brand name].com and YOUR[big brand name].com and none of us in corporate could remember which was for consumers and which was for dealers.
Much better to think about it as what it can do for me, instead of being about "me". I look forward to learning more about "it". :apple:

That ability is there. But rather than give its customers a choice of opting in, FT would rather sell your information without your approval.

Well that was fun ....
I am not entirely sure everything is running right, i am doing one work unit every 26 hours on the mac... its the SMP client and its a dual core 2.8ghz .. i get the feeling if i were running it on my bootcamp partion it would be better plus then i could utilize the graphics processer as well
however i installed ubuntu on the other 3.06ghz pc and well lets say that folding doesn't like it ... so i am now installing open Suse... so far so good ...

Some of the customer reviews on the iTunes download page for this app are saying that it's native resolution is for iPhone, not the iPad. If true, #soLame

I shoot with a canon HV30 which imports as HDV1080i
Will that format be friendly to both editing suites?
Here's the catch tho.
because i shoot in the 24p mode I have to reverse telecine in and because I edit in FCP 99% of the time, I convert it to prores. Does premiere play nice with prores?
