My H1-B renewal application was approved last month.
Still an agent came from USCIS last week for site inspection. He talked to HR first, then came to my room. ASked for an photo id, then asked usual questions, job responsibilities, salary, location,
educational qualifications, salary statement...
took some fotos of my room and desk b4 he left.
Everything went on for 15 mints.
Thought, I should share this info with you.

Also I have read conflicting responses e.g. some users have suggested not working and other have said you can work 180 days after EAD expires.

In my opinion I think we should get the news guys into this and get the information out there about the irresponsibility with which they have mismanaged the whole process. Such kind of problems usually grab headlines when it happens with US citizens.
I think we need to be heard. Imagine, insurance companies violating makes news, social security makes news, airport security regulations and mismanagement makes news _ WHY CANT THIS? THIS IS SO CRUEL. HOW MANY HOURS, MONEY, EFFORT HAS GONE DOWN THE DRAIN? CAN WE NOT GET SOME NEWS CHANNEL TO COVER THIS? SOMEONE TO SPEAK TO A JOURNALIST ABOUT HOW AWFUL IT HAS BEEN????

My wife's labor has been stuck for 2 years ( she got an RFE ). Her company lawyers arent too helpful and asked us to just wait. Wanted to know, what steps one can take to try to figure out what is happening.

I need to travel out of US urgently because of family emergency.
1) Can I get emergency AP from local/district ofices with supporting documents
2) I saw that I can travel until I get my AP approved.Has any oine denied entry because of they travelled out of US while ap processing is pending.Any experiences..

Priority date of old EB3 case: Jan 2003 (140 approved). Started new EB2 case (PD Feb 2007) without notifying uscis of old priority date. Now EB2 140/485 pending since three months. Can I get early EB2-140/485 approvals if I notify uscis of my old priority date now? I belong to "other charge-ability areas" group.

There is no change really for Advance Parole applicants.
The form 131 is used for more than just AP applicants, its used for refugees and re-entry permits too.
Read this from page 2 of that memo.
Q. Do the revised Form I-131 instructions require advance parole applicants to complete biometrics?
A. Applicants for advance parole are not required to submit biometrics at this time. An applicant for advance parole must continue to submit two identical color photographs of the applicant taken within 30 days of the filing of the Form I-131 application.

My original birth certificate has all the details needed, except that my last name is an initial, and not spelt out completely. Would I require an affidavit with an expanded last name?

As Birth Certificate is part of Initial evidence, 2 secondary evidence affidavits for incomplete/incorrect entries is always good for peace of mind. Search for numerous threads on Birth Certificates last month for affidavit format, who can provide etc.

My brother's wife attended interview at delhi consulate for H4 visa and got 220g .
She had all required documents as required but they says " Your application required further administrative process and they will contact her ASAP" .
Attorny - Can you help us what opetions we have . How long it will take before she gets her H4 visa .
My brother is here in USA from last 9 years and never on bench .

I NEED HELP from someone who can direct me in this situation
my h1b expired on june30, 2010 and i filed with the same employer for a new job position related to same profession on june 24 2010. but unfortunately uscis says that they have nothing on their system yet and no receipt of notice by july 20 . my cheques are also not yet cashed. i have fedex receipt proof it being received at uscis center on june 25th 2010. Now what should i do in this situation.
should i file again with premium processing explaining uscis that my file has been misplaced or has not even processed or filed yet though received on june 25th as per fedex receipt and wait in us till what happens.
i will really appreciate any help or comments in this situation

I'm going to India and is planning to get my h1 visa stamped...
How are stamping scenarios these days at Chennai?..esp"lly due to PIMS stuff...
I have followed lot of discussions around H1 stamping and people got struck for weeks/months in India due to PIMS and other issues..
Is it advisable to go for H1 stamping as i'm into 7 th year of extension and I can't afford getting stuck in India for more than the granted period of vacation...I have approved AP documents handy and can use them while coming back to US...
Can someone pls advise me on this?
