goel I know that, I have already done that twice in previous stampings at Canada. Each time I went a day before to the Scotia branch prior to my appointment. What concerns me is this statement.

The day I applied that day the PD was current.
PD should be current at the date of approval too. If it's current now you can get decision in couple of weeks, if PD is not current - just forget about checking that dates.
Also that date is showing as 19 july 2007.It means that majority of applications filed before that date and with current PD and necessary checks completed are with adjudicating officers.

Back in late 2004 there were no. of EB3 GC's getting approved after a Long wait of 2-3 yrs of filing I-485's.Then All of a sudden towards the EOY the retrogression kicked in for EB3's. Might be coincidence but all the Depts. work in Tandem and they might know all the Inside information..

I have gone through the same situation. My lawyer appealed with the original paper advertizement and my perm was cleared about one and half years later. I don't see any issue here as long as your employer has followed all the perm steps. Good Luck.

EB3_PERA,
Immigration to Canada is the most obvious option in case you want to stay within North America. Being Canadian permanent resident / citizen allows you to run business in the States under certain rules.
Another option is Australia but it is a bit far away and in fact the country is not very much populated - less than 20 mln people. I.e. business is not booming.
Dubai is an excellent option for making money, or at least that was the case 10-15 years ago. Its economy is still booming.

Just in-case one gets layed-off and has an EAD, can that person buy a 7-Eleven or a Gas Station?
Can the EAD holder actually run the gas station/7-eleven by working/being present there? (Maybe he/she can work there and take all the profit but no salary).
What happens if there is an RFE asking for proof of employment during this period?

We live in business world. Bright Companies pay salary at bad economic times to retain skilled employees. Desi companies pay more even during bench to retain employees, american companies dont and lay them off. That is precicly the reason desi companies succeed.

On the other hand he has said
"Commonsense is the realised sense of proportion".

My 140 was filed last week and I don't have the receipt number. Can I file 485 without I140 receipt number?

Hi All,
Here is my case , when i went to f1 - h1-b stamping in mexico, they issued me 221-g & asked me to got to india for stamping..( but they allowed me to enter usa)..later i applied for AP & EAD, got both ( recently i got i-140 query)
(RFE due date Mar10)
Here are my doubts:
1. can i go to india & comeback with AP in hand
2. Do i need to wait for my i-140 approval
3. my question is what if my i -140 rejects ??

Great! You will get the actual receipt notice like paper filing in a week. Also FP notice to take a picture for your EAD.
OK i e-filed and it showed Nebraska address generating LIN no's instead of MSC etc , it prompted me where my 485 is and i think since it is at NSC it routed automatically to NSC

I have used AC21 to change jobs
I have a closing statement from my previous employer mentioning the exercisable options.
Here it goes:
Exercisable Options
Price $30
grant date 1/10/2007
Shares exercisable 400
total price =12000
Last date to exercise
7/20/2008
However the market share value for the company now is 26.00
now my question is if I were to exercise before the last date will I be getting the total amount of $12000 or 26 x 400 = $10400 or the difference between the share values which is infact negative or nothing?
I find it difficult understand this financial terms. I dont understand clearly the term 'Exercisable options' Is there a hidden treasure am going to get?????
