Talk with hospitals in your area. May be $10K for the expense, if you didn't find any insurance to cover the pre-existing condition.
Spend it to get a US citizen child or save that money and make delivery happen in India.

Thanks for your responses. The hospital staff told us it would take 60-90 days to get the SSN. I am stuck until that arrives because only then can I apply for the passport. Any way to get around it?

IV doest evaluate posts of members or give more or less importance to quantity or quality of posts.
The software we use for forums (Joomla) is preconfigured to make a person "Senior member" when he/she posts 100 messages.
IV core group or leadership doesnt have any interest in rating the quantity or quality of any posts from any members.

Sounds like someone at SSN office who may not know much about immigration.
If your I 797 came with attached I94, then you certainly can apply for SSN card. Just ask for supervisor at the SS office and talk to them.
If your I 797 does not have attached I 94 (meaning that you are still in H4 status), then I do not know for sure what the procedure would be to apply for SS card.

Now , am in the second category..Have an H1 but my i94 is on H4 stamping ..I hold an Indian passport , do you know if i should get the H1 stamping (first time stamping) in India or can i conveniently get it done in Canada?
If your H1 approval notice did not come with the I-94 printed on it, then Canada is definitely an option to get it stamped, however its always better to get the first time stamping done in your home country.
You could also get your status changed while in US, but that would take additional fees and time. Speak to your H1-b sponsor about it.
btw, I would still check the approval notice to make sure that notice does not have an I-94 printed on the bottom of it. The I-94 printed at the bottom of the notice will have the same I-94 number as the one you have stapled to your passport, but will now have your status as H1 instead of H4.

You can take Infopass to findout, wheather this notice is by mistake - if so you are out of problem. Otherwise, I don't think, there is any other option then getting it done, you can keep on extending till your wife comes here.
Take enough precautions so that finger ridges are properly scanned next time to avoid such calls. A small cut in fingers can delay legible prints for months. Sometimes skin diseases are problems. In newborns, finger ridges are not developed and it can happen with some grown ups. If you rub fingers against rough surface before FP, FP will not come properly.
The staff taking FP does visual scanning and runs preliminary program to verify whether scans are OK or not. With image scanning, number of repeat FP notice due to unreadbale prints is significantly reduced - so the notice you have received might be a mistake.

just called USCIS and reached level 2 customer support. she still could not find my 485 information. She send a request to NSC to look for my application. and ask me to ask them after 45 days if I still not hear anything from NSC.

I heard under current USCIS procedures, USCIS scan an applicant for all existing I-140 approvals. You are then automatically assigned the earliest PD your are entitled to. (Multiple I140s with single I485).
I am not sure if they port PDs with different categories. Like One have EB3- PD2004 & EB2- PD2008 so EB2 will be ported to PD2004. I think they have have stpooed this & USCIS has started assigning multiple priority dates depends upon category.

we are also on same boat
but I did not find any college [small/medium/big ] which are offering MS program for below 6k including all.. I found few colleges who are offering at 6k, but their degress are not valid in INDIA/USA as they looks like diploma mills.
In a 4 months search I found one college [regionally acredited], which will cost 13k including every thing.
I found one more state college which are offering MS in computer science for 12k
These two colleges help us to transfer visa to F1 and chances to get work permission in 4 months [part time]
bottom line is: if you find any college [regionally acredited, not online university] which are offering masters program between 6 to 9k, please update me through this post

In one of my friend's case they approved H1 for 6 months, because he had contract only for 6 months. He just completed 3 years and this is his first extension request. :eek: Who the hell in this world writes contract for more than 6 months even if they have requirements for next 2 years.
Another case I heard was immigration officer at POE granted only 1 year I-94 even though he had 2 years left in his visa. It seems IO spoke to candidates manager and advised him to hire someone locally and get him trained within a year.
Are we in real United States of America? So much of hate around.

definitely your entry should be deneid, you are not uncapale to solve your domestic problem, how come you are going to do good to this country by getting GC. (I agree these people are not good as you, but before they start domestic voilence there are on citizen/GC (either one of them),
